Training at a hotel management school

Set up by the Gambian Government, the Gambia Tourism and Hospitality Institute (GTHI) offers training for people who would like to work in hotels or events planning. Courses cover the following areas:

• front desk
• events planning
• professional cookery
• baking
• bar work
• laundry
• housekeeping.

The courses are at least 12 months in length.
If you complete your training successfully, you will be qualified to work, for example

• in hotels,
• on cruise ships
• or in restaurants.

GTHI places many of its trainees in jobs when they have finished their training. You will have to pay a fee for the training.
