Housing, vocational training and direct support at the airport

The "Afghan Women Association for Rehabilitation and Development" (AWARD) offers temporary housing support and helps you to get professional training and to start your own business.

AWARD also offers assistance directly at the airport as well as temporary accommodation immediately after your return. After that, you can get assistance in the form of furniture or rent subsidies.

In addition, you can earn a daily wage for short term directly after your arrival via cash-for-work measures.


For this, AWARD offers the following:

  • Vocational training
  • Consulting on setting up a business
  • Material support for starting a business
  • Training courses in accounting for women and men

The offers are available, for example for these professions:

  • Tailoring
  • Embroidery
  • Mobile Repairing
  • Plumbing
  • Carpet weaving
  • Carpentry
  • Vehicle Repair

AWARD is active in Kabul and Nangarhar province.

Psychosocial support for returnees

The International Psychosocial Organisation can help you with the following:

  • Processing your experiences
  • Reintegration within Afghanistan

You can choose from the following options:

  • Psychosocial consultancy sessions
  • Mediation and settlement in the event of conflicts with new communities
  • Counselling, for instance regarding anxieties or sleep disorders
  • Health care
  • Help with renewed motivation

These services are provided as follows:

  • One-to-one sessions
  • Group sessions
  • In person
  • Online

IPSO is also available at social centres ("Kolba-ye Man") and offers various activities there. You can meet with other people at these centres and discuss experiences during your flight.
