SOLWODI - Help for women

The SOLWODI organisation (“Solidarity with Women in Distress”) helps women in difficult situations.

The SOLWODI return project funds women who have returned to or want to return to their country of origin.

SOLWODI provides individual help with your return. Support can be provided in different ways.

Potential help:

  • Advice in Germany free of charge
  • Financial assistance in your home country, for example for:
    • Vocational training
    • Further training
    • Rent
    • School fees for children
    • Introduction to a new job
    • Apprenticeships
    • An income-generating activity

Admission criteria:

  • Women who are single or single parents
  • Special need due to difficult living situation and/or vulnerability


Worth knowing Our advice is free of charge For women only Languages: German and English. (Female interpreters are available if needed. Please feel free to enquire.) You also have the option of living in one of our apartments. You are protected there.

Skills training on how to generate an income

Your country of origin – your opportunities

Our course teaches you how you can make a good living by becoming self-employed in your country of origin.

What do we do?
We make some suggestions. Then we discuss them with you.

You learn:

  • What you have to do in everyday life to ensure your business is successful.
  • Talking with your customers, for example.
  • How you can stay on top of things.
  • This includes, for example, what you sell and how much money you get for it.
  • How to make people want to come to you.
  • What you can best do yourself.
  • How others can help you.

The course is free of charge. Participation will not affect your residence status or asylum application. You will have a female social worker from SOLWODI to advise and help you. Please feel free to contact us via WhatsApp on +49 (0)152 347 747 07.

The course is taught by female lecturers from the Bonn/Rhein-Sieg Chamber of Industry and Commerce's training and development centre. You will receive a certificate.

Free of charge For women only Childcare is offered Attendance will not affect your residence status or asylum procedure. Travel costs: travel expenses can be reimbursed. Accommodation: Attendees live in the St. Augustin mission house. Childcare can be arranged. Please feel free to enquire. The course is suitable for women with a limited education and for those who can't read or write.
