Against violence and human trafficking

The Citizens Association for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings and All Forms of Gender-Based Violence (Atina) helps victims of human trafficking and violence.

There is a house in Belgrade where you can get temporary protection. Atina also provides help in other ways. For example:

  • Looking for new accommodation or a new apartment
  • Legal advice
  • Medical support
  • Psychological support

Sexual health and rights

The Serbian Association for Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) provides you with information about your rights and about sexual health.

It offers advice on sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV/AIDS.

You can also get psychological support.

SRH also provides help with the following:

  • Getting health insurance
  • Applying for personal documents

SRH has contact centres in:

  • Belgrade.
  • Niš.
  • Bujanovac.
  • Zajecar.

The contact centres are located in public institutions such as municipal authorities. You can go there directly. The mediators are available to you there Monday to Friday from 12:00 to 16:00.

You do not have to pay for this advisory service. If you have questions, write an email to the staff members at the contact centres.

Refuge for children

The Children’s Shelter in Belgrade helps children and young people who no longer have a family or whose family is not able to look after them.

It offers food and a place to sleep. The children and young people are looked after and can take part in various programmes:

  • Help with homework
  • Creative workshops
  • Educational programmes
  • Sports

The children and young people can also obtain psychological support.

The Center for the Protection of Infants, Children and Youth is available at seven locations in Belgrade.

Children and young people can live here:

  • If they no longer have a family
  • If they can no longer live with their family
