Training in a hotel management school

The Tunisian-German Centre for Jobs, Migration and Reintegration (CTA) provides you with training in the hotel and catering sector. This involves the CTA cooperating with state-run hotel management schools in Tunisia. The training lasts four weeks and includes a range of practical activities.

You will be given training in:

• Kitchen
• Bar and restaurant (service)
• Room service

One course covers the basics of all aspects of the job, and there are also advanced courses on individual subjects.

The curriculum was developed by the Gastronomical Education Centre in Koblenz (Germany). The training qualifies you to perform simple tasks in a hotel or restaurant.

You are awarded a certificate if you successfully complete the course. This certificate is issued by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), the hotel management school and the hotel industry association FTH.

GIZ operates the CTA advice centre on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). 

Mentors for business start-ups

You can find a mentor on the MicroMentor website. A mentor can help you if you want to start your own business. He or she already has a lot of experience and can advise you on many different matters. A mentor can also help you with problems. Mentors work on a voluntary basis. You have to register on the website and describe what you are looking for. The service is free of charge.

Tunisian Agency for Vocational Training

The Agence Tunisienne de la Formation Professionelle (ATFP) offers a lot of information on careers and training all over Tunisia.
ATFP advises on:

• vocational training
• basic training
• special areas such as IT.

ATFP also helps people to find places in training courses all over Tunisia.
There are various conditions for these courses. Please ask if you are interested in a particular career.
