Would you like to set up a business? Then the PLASEPRI programme can help you. PLASEPRI stands for Plateforme d’Appui au Secteur Privé et à la Valorisation de la Diaspora Sénégalaise en Italie (Platform for the Support of the Private Sector and the Development of the Senegalese Diaspora in Italy).  

Among others, PLASPERI promotes small and medium-sized enterprises in Senegal.

The PLASEPRI platform can help you with things such as:

• Finding training courses in key areas of running a business
• Applying for financial support to start a business

Support for the self-employed and for companies

The AjeSud project (Accompagnement des jeunes vers l’emploi au Sud du Sénégal) helps you to be successful in your self-employment or in your business.  

You can apply if you run a very small, a small or a medium-sized business.
 
The following services are available:

• You can take part in training courses that are adapted to your needs.
• You are given individual mentoring and the coaches meet with you on a regular basis. They help you to implement your entrepreneurial projects.
• This can involve you being given financial support to realise your projects. 
   

Psychological advice

The “House of Hope” offers therapy sessions. Professional advisors will help you if you need psychological support. 
Individual therapy sessions and advice will help you to improve your situation. 
The “House of Hope” can help returnees to work through the traumatic experiences of their flight, for example. 

The advice also boosts your self-confidence and helps you to overcome feelings of shame or guilt. 

The team will take account of your overall situation. Family members or friends can be included if that would be useful.

This offer is aimed at:

• people who are mentally ill and traumatised;
• returnees and
• migrants; 
• women who have been the victims of sexual abuse and rape; 
• soldiers; 
• people affected by the corona pandemic who need support

Information about life in Senegal

The Service Public et Démarches Administratives (Civil Service and Administrative Procedures) website is run by the government. It provides information about different areas of life and the administrative procedures involved. For example:

• family
• important documents
• housing
• work and training
• transport.

You can use the website to:

• submit various applications;
• download forms.

You can use the website free of charge.

Advice on life in Senegal

The Direction Générale Senegalais de l'Exterieur (DGSE) is part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is a central office that has links to all the important points of contact and organisations in Senegal. This means it can help you with many different questions.
DGSE can tell you:

• what information is available and where you can get it
• what support is available and where you can get it.

For financial support DGSE offers the FAISE programme. You can also get social welfare benefits from DGSE. The advice is free of charge.
