Discover new opportunities in the Gambia

We support you free of charge on your way to new job prospects. This applies if you live in or want to return to the Gambia.

Our team advises you on job applications, professional qualification or if you want to start a business. We also offer training and psychosocial assistance.

Need advice and support after returning to Gambia? The Gambian-German Advisory Centre for Jobs, Training and Reintegration (GGAC) offers information and help in the following areas:

  • Individual and client-oriented advice and career guidance
  • Individual follow-up with each client seeking employment, vocational training, start-up/entrepreneurship support
  • Information on vocational training, start-up/entrepreneurship support
  • Assistance with Job Placement and matching

This advice is provided via Email, phone or in person at the GGAC and is free of charge. Our services are available to all local population, IDPs, returnees and refugees.

Pitching competition

The Gambian-German Advisory Centre for Jobs, Training and Reintegration (GGAC) is organizing a pitching competition for start-ups and existing businesses in the Gambia. The application phase is now closed and shortlisted candidates will soon be invited to pitch their ideas. 20 selected winners will receive Design Thinking training and in-kind support of up to 1.000€ to start up or expand their business.

Successful job fair and careers day in The Gambia

Contacts with companies, careers advice, tips on the best training, promotion of employment and raising awareness of different opportunities in The Gambia: all of these were the focal point of the job fair on the campus of Gambia College. More than 1,000 participants benefited from these opportunities.

A future career for young people

Together with the GTTI, the GGAC is offering young people in Gambia a 9-month training course, which is intended to improve their career prospects. It prepares them for jobs in the welding industry, construction and the solar technology sector.

The goal: entrepreneurial thinking

The 13 proud Gambians are presented with their certificates: They have learned a lot during their one-week training on the basics of business and finances. The mood in the small room scattered with tables, posters and working materials is vibrant – thanks to their newly acquired knowledge, the participants, including returnees from Germany, are keen to start planning their career as a self-employed business owners.

In the leadup to the upcoming official opening of the Gambian-German Advisory Centre for Jobs, Training and Reintegration (GGAC) in The Gambia, an implementation agreement was signed in the capital Banjul.
