Returning from abroad is not always easy. In order to settle back in The Gambia in the best possible way, the Gambian-German Advisory Centre for Jobs, Training and Reintegration (GGAC) offers psychosocial support together with the Gambia Red Cross Society. The offer applies to returnees as well as to the local population.

Who can access psychosocial support under this project?
Returnees, their families and the local population are eligible for psychosocial support.

What is the psychosocial support for returnees and the local population?
For returnees, psychosocial support includes a range of services. They are designed to promote the mental health and well-being of people who have returned to The Gambia after migration, and the communities that host them. They also aim to support the reintegration of returnees. These services may include counselling, individual therapy, support groups and referrals to specialised services.

You can access psychosocial support by contacting the Gambia Red Cross Society or GGAC.

How much does the psychosocial support cost?
Psychosocial support is free of charge under this project (December 2022 to July 2023).
