Finding work in Kosovo: answers to the most frequently asked questions

Do you want to return to Kosovo? Are you looking for work or do you want to find a job in a different sector? Or are you perhaps in a difficult life situation? Then we at the German Information Centre for Migration, Vocational Training and Career (DIMAK) are happy to support you. Here you’ll find the most relevant information about our services.

What is DIMAK?

DIMAK stands for Deutsches Informationszentrum für Migration, Ausbildung und Karriere (German Information Centre for Migration, Vocational Training and Career). Since 2015 we’ve been supporting people who live in Kosovo, who have returned there or who want to return.

We’ll be happy to advise you on your pathway to a new job. We can help you to reintegrate into Kosovar society. Or we can support you in difficult life situations.

We cooperate closely with local and international partners to be able to help you when you come to visit us. Our partners include the Employment Agency of the Republic of Kosovo (Agjencia e Punësimit e Republikës së Kosovës – APRK). It advises people who are looking for work and helps them to find a job.

We also cooperate with the Kosovar Ministry of Internal Affairs and Public Administration (Ministria e punëve të brendshme dhe Administrata Publike). This is how we support people from the time that they arrive until they are fully reintegrated.

Which services are available?

Finding a job:
We will be happy to inform and advise you about how you can find a job in Kosovo. Training courses will teach you how to write a good CV, for example, and how to prepare for an interview.

Starting a business:
We can support you with the development of a business plan if you want to start your own business. You can attend training courses to learn about aspects of market research, marketing, finance and bookkeeping. Sometimes our support involves referring you to our partners. We especially want to support women and girls. We are happy to advise you and also offer you targeted training courses.
