The Ghana Virtual Career Fair 2020

The Ghana Virtual Career Fair 2020 is geared to provide a response to the current challenges the COVID-19 pandemic poses to industries and employment.

The event, which is scheduled for 8th July 2020, will be held online and will be accessible to jobseekers with access to internet via computers, smart phones and devices. 

The Ghana Virtual Career Fair 2020 seeks to complement the efforts of the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations and the Government of Ghana at promoting employability and entrepreneurship among the Ghanaian youth and to explore the potential opportunities emerging after the Coronavirus pandemic. 

The fair is aimed at orienting job seekers on coping strategies in the current economic context, exposing the job opportunities that the so-called “gig economy” present as well as equipping employees and job seekers with the needed IT, digital and employability skills to excel on the job. The event will also seek to promote entrepreneurship and digitalization as innovative alternatives to sustainable employment.

The fair is organized on behalf of German development cooperation and the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations by the Ghanaian-German Centre for Jobs, Migration and Reintegration (GGC) and the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Ghana (AHK Ghana).

Who can attend the virtual careers fair?
Everyone is welcome. The fair offers a wide variety of training sessions and discussions that will be of interest to job seekers, employees, companies and business associations. The event is particularly aimed at young people who have lost their job due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

How can I register to attend the fair?
Participants can visit the careers fair website to register online. It contains further information on how to register and how to use the website. You can participate via desktop computer, tablet, smartphone or any other device you can use to access the Internet.

What will the careers fair offer me as a participant?
The fair aims to equip those seeking employment with the right skills for the job market. These include, for example, soft skills, digital skills and business knowledge. You can have a conversation with the speakers, introduce yourself to companies and participate in discussions.

Who are the speakers?
More than 15 experts have been invited. These include government representatives as well as representatives from the scientific and business communities. You will also meet personnel experts and founders from the start-up scene in Ghana.

What does it cost to take part?
Participation in the fair is free of charge.
