MOVE-ID opens the doors: Migration advice now available in Bandung and Mataram

Indonesia and Germany officially opened the Centres for Migration Opportunity, Vocation & Development (MOVE-ID) in Bandung and Mataram.

Bandung, 19 June 2025 – The opening event started with a meeting between Germany's Ambassador to Indonesia, Ina Lepel, and Abdul Kadir Karding, the Indonesian Minister for Protecting Migrant Workers at the Hilton Hotel Bandung. They talked about how Germany and Indonesia can work together to help young Indonesians get the skills needed on the international job market. A common interest of both countries is to make sure that when people move for work, it's safe and fair.

Afterwards, the MOVE-ID centres in Bandung and Mataram officially opened their doors for Indonesian citizens. People who are interested in working abroad can now receive professional counselling in matters related to migration to Germany, Europe as well as to countries in Southeast Asia. The centres provide information needed to make careful and well-informed decisions about migrating. At the same time, people who have returned to Indonesia can get help starting over again.

Simultaneously, the Goethe-Institut officially opened the Competence Centre Southeast Asia for Professional Migration to Germany (KSM). The centre helps people prepare for the German labour market by offering language courses, intercultural training, and information services. KSM in Bandung is connected to German employers who are specifically looking for qualified workers from Indonesia and Southeast Asia. KSM and MOVE-ID are working closely together to offer suitable services for each person.
